Mon Dec 20, 2010

Dr. Ida Mills, Instructor of Social Work/Sociology at Glenville State College, and husband Mark, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, have announced their funding for an award for a promising Glenville State College criminal justice student.

Jamie Schindel, a sophomore from Troy, Ohio, majoring in Criminal Justice, who is carrying a 3.52 grade point average into her second year at Glenville State College, has been selected as the initial recipient of the $1,250 award.

The Mills have earned the respect of the Glenville State College campus community in many ways, according to administration officials. They are very active in many campus events, including athletic, cultural, and social activities.

“With the continuing expansion of the Criminal Justice program at Glenville State College, we are seeing many fine young men and women that are reaching a high level of academic achievement,” said Mark Mills. “This award, which Ida and I are pleased to be able to fund, is a small token of our respect for those achievements and is our way of congratulating them.”

Criminal Justice students with at least a 3.0 GPA who are interested in pursuing the award in future years should forward an updated resume and cover letter for consideration to the Glenville State College Foundation.
