GSC Courses to be Offered this Fall at BCHS

Off-Campus Fall GSC Courses at BCHSGLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State College is continuing its tradition of offering a wide array of evening classes in Braxton County to accommodate students who might have difficulty making it to the GSC campus to take classes during the day. Several weekly evening Glenville State College courses are scheduled to be held this Fall at Braxton County High School in the Braxton County Center.

Class offerings include: Survey of American Literature I (Mondays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), Principles of Macroeconomics (Mondays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), The Financial System and Economy (Mondays 6:45-9:15 p.m.), Principles of Sociology (Mondays 6:45-9:15 p.m.), Critical Reading and Writing I (Tuesdays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), United States History to 1877 (Tuesdays 6:45-9:15 p.m.), Labor Management Relations (Tuesdays 6:45-9:15 p.m.), Earth Science with Lab (Tuesdays/Thursdays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), College Algebra (Wednesdays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), Principles of Marketing (Wednesdays 6:45-9:15 p.m.), Public Speaking (Thursdays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), Principles of Accounting II (Thursdays 4:00-6:30 p.m.), and Computing Concepts (Thursdays 6:45-9:15 p.m.). Classes will begin on Monday, August 17.

“We are very pleased that we will be offering off-campus courses again this semester at the Braxton County Center. These classes certainly make it easier for more people to take advantage of the educational opportunities of Glenville State College,” said Assistant Coordinator of Off-Campus Programming Kathy Gilbert.

Hefner Scholarships are available to cover the tuition and fees of two courses for qualifying students. To qualify, you must be an adult resident of Braxton County who graduated from high school at least three years ago. BCHS juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 may also enroll for these courses at a discounted dual credit rate. Students are responsible for textbook costs.

All who are interested in furthering their education are encouraged to enroll in these classes. There will be an Open House at the Braxton County Center on Monday, August 10 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the BCHS Commons Area where you can register and have questions answered.
