Glenville, WV -- New pioneers gather together for the first time for pre-registration at Glenville State College. For many of them, this is the first time they have been on campus. These future GSC students are registering for fall classes and have the opportunity to visit with fellow students as well as exploring the campus.

Michael Livesay of Buckhannon in Upshur County, an upcoming GSC music education major, had many reasons for choosing Glenville State College. “I like the community; it’s a nice quiet place, almost like my hometown. Glenville State College has the best education program in the state,” said Livesay. He also says he liked what other GSC students were saying about the college. “They love it here!”

Braxton County native Shelley Wyatt of Sutton, an upcoming GSC elementary education major, chose Glenville State College because it was ‘close to home.’ “I heard really good things about the education program from current students and I liked what I heard,” said Wyatt.

The first fall pre-registration was held on June 29th. During the second pre-registration on July 16th, Office of Admissions Program Assistant I Lucinda ‘Cricket’ Patrick said “I think it is going very well. Parents and students seem quite pleased.” Patrick later added, “Pre-registration is enjoyed by all and the events are quite productive.”

It is not too late to register for fall classes at Glenville State College. There is one more pre-registration day scheduled on August 8th from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will also be an open registration on August 17th. If you cannot attend these events, contact the Office of Admissions to set up an appointment.
