GSC Land Resources Department to Host Golf Tournament
Wed Apr 1, 2009

The 11th Annual Glenville State College Land Resources’ Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 1st, with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. at the Glenville Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the GSC Land Resource Department. The money raised has been used to purchase equipment that the department’s operating budget does not allow. Last year’s tournament netted over $5,300 that went toward the purchase of GPS, GIS, and CADD Technology for the program. Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to buy more of this equipment.

Entry fee for the four-person scramble is $75.00 per person or $300 per team. Entry fee includes green fees, cart rental, and buffet lunch. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place teams. There will be two ‘hole in one’ prizes: $10,000 cash, and a 350 Honda 4-Wheeler. There will also be prizes for: longest drive, ‘log drive,’ closest to the pin, and longest putt.

Non-golfers may contribute to the tournament by becoming a hole sponsor. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Hole sponsors will be prominently advertised at the event.

For more information, to register to play, or to sponsor a hole, contact Crystal Murphy, Department of Land Resources Administrative Secretary, at (304) 462-7361 ext. 7370.
