Glenville State College has named Tim Spencer as the new Lady Pioneers Softball coach. Spencer is a native of Smithville, WV.   He attended Harrisville High School and graduated in 1982.

“Tim is the right man for the job; he knows the game and will fit right in with the girls,” stated Athletic Director Janet Bailey.

Tim has coached for 17 years most of it with travel softball but has spent the last four years coaching at Richie County High School. “I am very eager and honored to start coaching here at Glenville State and can’t wait till the girls get back from Christmas Break; that is when it is really going to sink in,” stated Coach Spencer.

"With the talent that we have coming back I think we are going to have a very successful 2011 season,” said Spencer.

Tim’s daughter Britany is also a member of the Lady Pioneer Softball team.

Tim resides with his wife Shonya in Smithville, WV.

“We are ready to see what Tim will bring to the table and can’t wait till the Softball season starts,” said AD Janet Bailey.

The Lady Pioneers season starts on February 25th when they travel to Catawba, North Carolina to compete in the Catawba Invitational.
