Glenville, WV – Glenville State College’s prospective students and their parents will soon be able to calculate the cost of their education more accurately. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (WVHEPC) and the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education (WVCTCE) will be implementing sophisticated, online net-price calculators that will estimate tuition at thirteen institutions across the state.  The net price is the estimated education cost after subtracting the merit and need-based federal, state, and institutional grants, which a student is eligible to receive, from a college’s published cost of attendance.

“This service will provide more information to families in order to help prepare them for higher education. Financial Aid is increasing the number of programs it offers in order to accommodate the needs of potential GSC students,” said GSC Vice President of Enrollment Management Duane Chapman.

These thirteen institutions net-price calculators will be among the first in the nation to calculate Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits for veterans and current service members. This service will be available on the GSC website by the Fall 2011 semester. For more information, contact Chapman at Donald.Chapman@glenville.edu or (304) 462-6130.
