The Glenville State College Fine Arts Department presents the Pops Concert. The concert will be held on Friday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Auditorium.

The Pops Concert is a performance that takes place every three to four years on the GSC campus. According to Lloyd Bone, Assistant Professor of Music and Department Chair, “This concert truly has something for everyone and will be a great time for all!”

That certainly seems to be the case as the concert will include performances of some of the most popular college concert band pieces. Those selections include: ‘Godzilla Eats Las Vegas,’ the finale to the world famous ‘1812 Overture,’ John William’s world famous Olympic Games fanfare concert piece, ‘Summon the Heroes’ and ‘The Seventies.’ The final collection, ‘The Seventies,’ includes familiar tunes like: The Way We Were, On Broadway, the theme from the television show ‘MASH,’ Star Wars theme music, The Loco Motion, The Muppet Show theme, Thank God I’m A Country Boy, Black Water, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head, The Hustle, The Love Boat theme, Feelings, Bad Bad Leroy Brown and many others.

Admission to the concert is $2.00, with GSC students being admitted for free with a current college ID. For more information, contact the GSC Fine Arts Department at (304) 462-4130.
