Glenville, WV—Glenville State College President, Dr. Peter Barr and his wife Betsy have made an art donation to the college. On Donated Art GiftMonday, November 12th, at the Robert F. Kidd Library, the Barrs unveiled a stained glass picture of the GSC Clock Tower of the Heflin Administration Building. The gift will hang in the window of the main lobby of the library.

The portrayal of one of the campus’s most recognizable landmarks was created by Eddie Streeter, owner of Pop’s Glass Station Studio & Gallery in Conway, South Carolina, at the request of the Barrs. The Stained Glass was inspired by a photograph taken by President Barr. “We were walking up the hill following the 2006 GSC Homecoming Parade on a clear beautiful day, and Pete took the picture of the clock tower which he was so proud of, that he put it on the cover of his inauguration CD that was given to guests at the inaugural luncheon. I know that I am somewhat biased, but I believe the stained glass is hanging in the perfect spot, and will be enjoyed by many for years to come,” said GSC First Lady Betsy Barr.

“The stained glass just adds to recent renovations at the library. It offers a wonderful focal point whether you are coming into the library, or even looking down at it from campus. We are very pleased to have this special gift from Dr. and Mrs. Barr,” said Gail Westbrook, head librarian at the Robert F. Kidd Library.
