GLENVILLE, WV—The N’Tranze Band, featuring Glenville State College Assistant Professor of Music Jason Barr, will give a free concert at the GSC Rusty Musket on Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. followed by an encore performance at the Pioneer Grille on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m.

Barr played with the group for fifteen years as part of the house band for the Myrtle Beach House of Blues before becoming a part of the GSC community over two years ago.

“I received a call from a former band leader a few months ago asking if I would like to join them for a wedding gig at the Greenbrier Hotel. I figured while they were in West Virginia, why not have them play in Glenville for a couple of nights?  I’m pleased to say it has come together, and we hope that GSC students and the community will take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy a little slice of Myrtle Beach Blues pie without having to drive eight hours to get it!” Barr stated.

NtranzeBarr teaches music theory and general music education classes, gives private saxophone lessons, and has started up a jazz combo and saxophone quartet with students.
