GSC Republication Organization

Glenville, WV—A group of Glenville State College students have restarted the GSC Republicans. There has not been a republican student organization on campus for several years. The group hopes to combat the lack of a conservative perspective among the student body by offering opposing views to those being expressed by other GSC student organizations. These students plan on working to support the Republican Party’s candidates, enhance conservative thinking, increase voter registration, and try to end some of the apathy about the political process.

“The GSC Republicans will provide a forum for conservatives on campus, work to enhance the student body’s understanding of republican ideals, and promote interest in the political process,” said GSC Freshmen Dan Nary of Calhoun County. Nary has been elected president of the GSC Republicans. Other elected officers include: senior Donnie Carpenter of Charleston as Vice President, Freshmen Grace Boyles of Roane County as Secretary, and freshmen Tonya Nottingham of Braxton County as Treasurer. Dr. Charles Becker, GSC Assistant Professor of Accounting is the faculty advisor.

The GSC Republicans meet every Thursday, from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. in AB 301. All interested like-minded students are welcome to join the organization.
