GLENVILLE STATE COLLEGE’S CLARISSA WILLIAMS AWARD WINNER ANNOUNCED

KATELANN GUILER Volleyball Zanesville, Ohio

Glenville, WV--Katelann Guiler, a Zanesville, Ohio native, is this year’s recipient of the Clarissa Williams Award at Glenville State College. GSC Athletic Director, Steve Harold, says the award is given out annually to the top female athlete who graduated during the previous academic year. Harold said, “Katie was a four-year member of the Volleyball squad and had a very successful career. A starter throughout her career, Katie was honored with being named captain of the team during her senior season.”

Katie was the 2005-06 recipient of the First Community Bank Senior Scholar Athlete Award given annually at the Basketball Tournament in Charleston to the top graduating female student-athlete. Previously, she had earned inclusion on the WVIAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2004-05 and 2005-06. During her athletic career, Katie was active on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. A Social Studies major, Katie is the daughter of Pat and Linda Guiler.

This prestigious award will be presented to the winner during pre-game activities during GSC’s Homecoming on October 7th, when the Glenville State Pioneers take on Fairmont State with kick-off at 1:30 p.m. The following is a complete list of Clarissa Williams Award Winners at Glenville State College:
