GLENVILLE, WV – Glenville State University is proud to announce that graduate student Victoria Osborne earned first place in the graduate-level Knowledge Test competition at the annual conference of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) in Philadelphia, PA. The competition was hosted in conjunction with Alpha Phi Sigma, the national academic honor society for criminal justice.
Representing Glenville State’s Gamma Sigma chapter, Osborne competed against 15 other university honor society participants from across the globe. Demonstrating exceptional knowledge and composure under pressure, she secured the top honor along with a $750 award.
Osborne’s achievement highlights the quality of Glenville State University’s Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) and graduate programs. Her performance showcased not only her academic excellence, but also her wit, intelligence, and poise in a highly competitive, setting.
Reflecting on her experience, Osborne said, “I felt well-prepared going into the competition thanks to the strong academic foundation I received at Glenville State. I approached the test with confidence and was proud to represent my university and come away with a first-place finish against such talented competitors.”
“We are incredibly proud of Victoria and this outstanding accomplishment,” said Dr. Donal Hardin, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice. “Her success is a testament to her hard work and to the quality of our graduate programs here at GSU,” he added.
Osborne’s first-place finish brings international recognition to Glenville State University and reflects the continued success of its students on a global stage.
