Guest Tuba and Euphonium Artist Coming to GSC

George Palton

GLENVILLE, WV – The Glenville State College Fine Arts Department will play host to George Palton for a guest artist tuba recital on Thursday, October 15 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The event will be open to the public and is free to attend.

Palton currently serves as the Adjunct Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Along with his duties at Marshall, Palton is very active teaching in the public schools. He holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and Bowling Green State University. Dr. Palton has won first place in several solo competitions including the International Tuba Euphonium Conference Tuba Artist Competition (2006) and is sought after as a performer and clinician both regionally and throughout the country.
