GLENVILLE, WV - The Glenville State College Department of Business will host I.L. “Ike” and Sue Morris as the next featured speakers in the Business Leadership Series on Thursday, December 5 at 9:30 a.m. in the Heflin Administration Building Presidents’ Auditorium.

Ike Morris is the owner of Waco Oil & Gas Co., Inc., as well as a former Board member of United Bank, Alliance Petroleum Corp. in Canton, Ohio, and the West Virginia Oil and Gas Commission. Originally from Oklahoma, he came to Glenville in 1962 to be part of the oil and gas boom. In 2018 he received the State Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Sue Morris graduated from Glenville State College in 1965. She was a teacher in Gilmer County Schools for thirty years before retiring in 1996. She has previously served as the Chair and Vice Chair for Glenville State’s Board of Governors in addition to serving on the GSC Foundation Board of Directors and several other committees. In 2012 she was made an honorary Glenville State College Hidden Promise Scholar.

The pair, married for over 50 years now, make supporting the community a centerpiece of their relationship. In addition to serving as a Partner in Education with Gilmer County High School, they have also contributed to numerous projects at Glenville State College such as the Waco Center and the installation of artificial turf and other improvements at Morris Stadium. The Morris family has also constructed the Sue Morris Sports Complex, which is a state-of-the-art sports facility for local softball and baseball teams.
