Glenville, WV--The Glenville State College chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, in conjunction with the College’s speaker series, will host a birds of prey presentation by Three Rivers Avian Center (TRAC) on Tuesday, October 16, at 2:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. A reception with refreshments begins in the lobby at 2:00 p.m.

The presentation includes live birds of prey (2 species of falcon, 2 species of owls, a hawk, and a Golden Eagle) from TRAC, and the individual case history of each raptor will be discussed. Program topics include habitat and the role of the raptors in the ecosystem, why we have laws protecting raptors and other wild birds, common hazards these birds face daily, and the work TRAC does to return threatened wild birds to their natural habitat. There will also be a question and answer session during the presentation.
