The next Little Kanawha Reading Series event will take place on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00 p.m. at the RFK Library.

GLENVILLE, WV - The next Little Kanawha Reading Series event will take place on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00 p.m. at Glenville State College’s Robert F. Kidd Library.

This event will feature Glenville State College President Dr. Mark Manchin, faculty member Dr. Ed Wood, and Athletic Director Jesse Skiles.

The event is free and open to the public but strict social-distancing guidelines will be followed, and seating will be very limited. Those interested in participating are encouraged to view the event live stream on GSC’s YouTube channel on October 15.

Manchin is GSC’s 26th President and his career in education includes a lifelong dedication to literature and the arts. Wood is a Professor of History at GSC and authored Mud: A Military History in 2006. Skiles is a Glenville alumnus and former track and cross country coach. He published his most recent book, DuPont Football History, 1939-1998, in 2017.

The Little Kanawha Reading Series is a campus-community cooperative providing a showcase for a diversity of literary forms and voices in order to acknowledge and enrich the cultural heritage of Appalachia and the communities around the Little Kanawha River.
