Pete and Betsy Barr Professional Development Award Now Accepting Applications

The 2011 Pete and Betsy Barr Professional Development Award is now accepting applications from Glenville State College full-time classified or non-classified staff persons.

The recipient of the $2,500 award may use the funds to further his or her professional growth and development.

Funded through the Pete and Betsy Barr Professional Development Endowment Fund, the award is presented annually, with faculty and staff recipients alternating each year.

The 2010 award was presented to a faculty member, while the 2011 award will go to a staff member.

The award was established by GSC President Peter Barr and his wife, Betsy.

The funds must be used within eighteen months of being awarded.

Written proposals may be submitted by email to dennis.pounds@glenville.edu or by writing to the GSC Foundation Office.

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, January 7, 2011.

The selection committee, which consists of two faculty and two staff members, will meet the following week to evaluate the proposals and select the 2011 award winner.
