Speaker Series Presents West Virginia Poet

John McKernan

The Glenville State College Speaker Series continues as acclaimed West Virginia poet and literary editor John McKernan will give a reading on Tuesday, April 7, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Multipurpose Room (Room 315a).

John McKernan’s poems have been published in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, The Paris Review, and other prominent literary journals. His books include Postcard from Dublin and Resurrection of the Dust. He is the former editor of the influential literary journal The Little Review, and the current editor of ABZ: A Magazine of Poetry. He is a Professor of English at Marshall University.

On Wednesday, April 8, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., McKernan will conduct a creative writing workshop in the Louis Bennett Hall Conference Room (LBH Room 304, above the Office of Technology). The workshop will focus on using lists as a creative writing prompt. Beginning writers are welcome.
