Members of GSC's Jazz Band practicing for their upcoming concert

GLENVILLE, WV—Members of the Glenville State College Jazz Band are preparing for their winter concert, which will take place on Friday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m., in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

“This concert is going to feature several different jazz styles so there should be a little something for everyone - we will be doing some swing, rock, and even a little Latin. The band will also be featuring a number of talented soloists on trumpet, saxophone, trombone, guitar, percussion, and even a clarinet,” said Assistant Professor of Music Jason Barr.

The first half of the concert will feature jazz and swing music from artists including Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Artie Shaw. The second half will feature Christmas tunes performed in a jazz style.

This concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Barr at Jason.Barr@glenville.edu or (304) 462-6350.
