GLENVILLE, WV—A reception to recognize the works of award-winning artist, Arlinka Worl, was held on Monday, September 8th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Glenville State College 'Spears Fine Arts Gallery.' Worl's work will be featured until Friday, September 19th.

"For thirty-five years I have been astounded by the beauty of the hills around me, and in the last few years I have been photographing and painting landscapes. I hope to inspire an appreciation for the unique terrain of West Virginia through my work," said Worl. "I use a kick-start method I developed with digital art. I refuse to be a modern artist that confines oneself to the 'horse and buggy' when a 'jet plane' is available."

Worl was born in Detroit, Michigan and has lived in West Virginia since 1976. She has competed nationally and has won both a silver and gold Grumbacher medal.

"Arlinka's work is a passionate representation of the natural world. Her use of pastels is superb," said GSC Associate Professor of Art Liza Brenner.
