The Boxing Squad will be making their way to Chattanooga, Tennessee this week, to compete in the National Golden Gloves Tournament.

The Golden Gloves is an amateur boxing tournament, were boxers must first win their bouts in the regional tournament before moving onto the national. It is a single-elimination tournament to advance to the championship bouts you must win.

“This is an absolute honor to be going to Nationals,” said Coach Duane Chapman. “We’re going against the best in the nation."

Francois Scarboro Jr (141 lbs OPEN) and Zach Gillenwater (165 lbs Open) won their bouts in Ashland, Kentucky on April 5 and 6 for the Golden Gloves Regional Tournament, and are now moving onto Nationals being held at the Chattanooga Convention Center on May 6-11.

Coach Chapman has also been selected to be the Tri-State Golden Gloves Team national Head Coach.
