Cost of Attendance
The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of a student's educational expenses.
The COA includes:
- Direct Costs: These include charges billed to you by Glenville State University, including:
- Tuition
- Fees
- Housing (if you live on campus)
- Food (if you have a meal plan)
Your final cost will vary depending on your residency, major, course selection, housing, and food plan selections.
- Indirect Costs: These are other expenses students may incur while attending, including:
- Rent
- Groceries
- Books and other Course Materials
- Supplies
- Transportation
- Miscellaneous Personal Expenses
What you spend will vary, and you can make choices to help reduce it.

The following are Glenville State University's tuition rates:
- In-State (Undergraduate): $4,333 per semester ($361/cr)
- Out-of-State (Undergraduate): $5,239 per semester ($437/cr)
- Online Only (Undergraduate): $4,566 per semester ($380/cr)
- Master's: $4,482 per semester ($498/cr) [based on a 9-hour semester]
- Housing
Housing cost is based on the most affordable double occupancy room in Goodwin Hall. A $100 academic year room reservation fee will also be assessed during the application for housing.
- Goodwin Single: $3,925 / semester
- Goodwin Double: $3,250 / semester
- Pickens Hall: $3,128 / semester
- Pioneer Village: $4,000 / semester (single occupancy)
- Food
Students residing in Goodwin Hall or Pioneer Village must purchase a meal plan. First-time freshmen must purchase the Blue All Access plan (19 meals per week). Commuter students will be required to purchase a "Dining Flex" plan, but Block Meal Plans are also available by contacting Dining Services.

Dining Services has a variety of meal plan options to choose from. A two-week window is available to change your meal plan each semester. Call (304) 462-4108 to set up your meal plan or to learn more.
- Books
GSU partners with Barnes & Noble College to provide you with textbooks at a bundled price of $420 per semester through a program called First Day Complete. This service entails a fee that will be included on your invoice. With this service, materials are conveniently prepared for you before the first day of classes. There is an opt-out option available to you as well, if you choose to obtain textbooks on your own. For more information, please visit our First Day Complete website.

In July, actual billing information will be available to registered students with their EdNet accounts. University charges are billed on a semester basis, twice a year; in July for fall and December for spring. The 2025-2026 semester charges for the typical freshman student residing in a Goodwin Double room are as shown below.
